Maria's 2024 Vision

I am honored to present my plan for the future of Nutley. My vision is to promote sensible growth and development, transparency in government, modern communication, the health and safety of all our residents, and inclusivity for everyone. 

Growth and development:

I believe in responsible and respectful growth, prioritizing our community's long-term prosperity and sustainability. We have a unique opportunity to shape the future of our downtown in a way that respects the past while also embracing the potential for growth and expansion. We must balance preserving historic buildings and creating space for new and exciting ventures. But let me clarify that this vision should not come at the expense of our residents. I encourage open communication and collaboration as we progress in this endeavor.

I am dedicated to continuing my work with the Chamber of Commerce and our community to ensure that we no longer sit on empty lots but take proactive steps to pave the way for progress. We must insist on this call to action to accomplish the work and impact our township meaningfully.

Part of this endeavor includes working closely with stakeholders, including but not limited to On3, as we strive to create opportunities for residents and businesses to thrive and prosper. We want to see our township bustling with activity and innovation; we can make this a reality through these partnerships. I encourage open communication and collaboration as we progress in this endeavor.

Transparency in Government: 

I am committed to fostering an environment of active engagement and informed decision-making. We must prioritize participatory governance that empowers our community at every level. Whether it is in infrastructure, budgeting, or policymaking, we need to ensure that the operations and decisions of our local government are accessible and understandable to all. 

I want to hear from all community members, whether you are a business owner, a resident, or a local organization member. Your input is valuable as we work to create a vibrant and inclusive township. We must balance progress and sustainability without driving our residents from our town because it is no longer affordable.

Modernized communication:

In today's rapidly evolving world, modernized communication is paramount. We must embrace innovative technologies and platforms to ensure that every resident has access to timely and meaningful information. By leveraging new communication tools, we can bridge the gap between local government and our community, fostering a more informed and connected Nutley. 

Health and Safety:

By nurturing a culture of wellness, we ensure our residents' physical health and contribute to our entire community's emotional and mental well-being. To achieve this vision, we must work together to identify and address potential hazards, invest in resources that promote good health, and continuously evaluate our protocols to ensure they are up to the task of protecting our community.

Moreover, we must find new and innovative ways to provide care for all residents. We can accomplish this by exploring technological advancements, creating community-based healthcare initiatives, and collaborating with local stakeholders to provide personalized, accessible care.

Inclusivity: 

Lastly, inclusivity is at the heart of my vision for Nutley. Regardless of race, religion, gender, or background, every resident deserves to feel valued and included in our community. We must work together to create a Nutley where all individuals feel respected and celebrated and where diversity is accepted and embraced. Our leadership, including our Board of Commissioners, must represent the rich tapestry of Nutley. 

My plan for Nutley is a comprehensive blueprint for a brighter future that prioritizes sensible growth and development, transparency, modernity, health, safety, and inclusivity. With your support, I am confident we can bring this vision to life together and build a better Nutley that we can all be proud of.
